Star Value Analysis © - As an entertainment fare, "Super Parental Guardians" is either the current standard of the general Filipino movie-going public or is an acquired taste of a dedicated fan-base, the description depending on who is judging the film.

But what cannot be denied and, rather than be ignored, should be analyzed more intently is the fact that "Super Parental Guardians", as affirmed by its huge box-office success, resonates to a sector, significant in number, that is glaringly telling of the state of things in (current) Philippine society. Thus, its undeniable value.

As for its content that critics have generally panned, here's a dissenting opinion. It's a movie and it's a comedy. The audience still has to be accorded the assumption that it knows the difference from real life (one that most of them are running away from for at least a couple of hours). And when seen in the light of comedy, it can then be said that it's "worrisome content" is done deliberately in the name of satire and if so, considering the state of things in Pinoy society today, can otherwise be termed as a brave effort by the film's stars, director and producers to make an important statement - against violence and extra-judicial killings - and that should be applauded rather than criticized.

Which leads to one final point - is "Super Parental Guardians" fit for the family and for children, specifically?

With proper parental guidance - Yes. Whatever it takes to get the message across to those that needs it most.
